Barrett Olafson

As Program Manager for Spark's Livestock Enteric Methane Mitigation program, Barrett supports stakeholder engagement, field-building, strategic roadmapping, and convening across the enteric methane ecosystem. His work helps drive alignment among researchers, industry, nonprofits, and funders to accelerate practical mitigation pathways at scale.

Before Spark, Barrett spent 15+ years as a product and engineering leader, running projects for clients including BNY Mellon, The Emmys, Carhartt, Levi's, Under Armour, and Leatherman. He's led product strategy, software engineering, and globally distributed technical teams.

Barrett studied Meteorology, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics at Florida State University, with recent graduate work in AI and machine learning. His technical background continues to inform his systems-oriented approach to coordination, strategy, and problem-solving in the climate space.

Outside of work, Barrett enjoys gardening, hiking, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with family and friends.
