David Mann, Ph.D.

David Mann co-founded Spark Climate Solutions to accelerate progress in critical climate areas in need of catalytic philanthropic support. He is a strategic partner to the leadership team, works with Spark's program directors and function leads on their strategic objectives, and sits on the board of directors.

Prior to Spark, David was a senior fellow at RMI, and co-founder and advisor to The Climate Map, which became the RMI Carbon Removal Initiative. David has also led product teams at Dropbox, invested in climatetech at Khosla Ventures, and led climate and energy-focused teams at McKinsey & Company.

David studied Applied Physics at Stanford (PhD '06) and Physics at Harvey Mudd. He lives in Belmont, California, with his family.
